Michèle Michaud was a bilingual assistant in the Department of Epidemiology at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon for five years. She then worked for “Gîtes de France, Rhône Alpes” where she set up and managed the regional office responsible for holiday cottage rentals in the eight departments of the Rhône Alpes region. While there she was involved in planning and executing numerous projects and gained experience in communications.

In 1995 she joined Betty Dodet at the Mérieux Foundation where she participated in the organisation of over 50 international scientific conferences.

In 2004 she accompanied Betty Dodet in the setting up of her scientific communications consultancy, DBS.
